Shut the Main Off First

Before we get there, closing the main shutoff is the single most useful thing you can do. It is usually where the supply enters the house, in the garage or a crawlspace, with a meter shutoff at the street as a backup. Water damage costs more than almost any plumbing repair, and stopping the flow stops that clock.

Worth locating that valve on a normal afternoon rather than in the middle of the night. If it will not turn, say so when you call.

What It Costs, and When It Can Wait

After-hours and holiday calls carry a higher rate. Saturday in normal hours is the regular rate, with no weekend premium. Either way the price is agreed before we start.

And we will tell you when you do not need us tonight. Most of the time, once the water is off at the main, the situation is stable and waiting until morning costs less and fixes exactly the same problem. Being told that on the phone is worth more to you than a truck at midnight, and it is what we would want someone to tell us.

What We Get Called For in Brentwood
