For most repairs the cost comes down to how much of the system has to come apart to reach the problem, whether the work is inside a finished wall or open, and whether the fix is a component or a section of line. We come out, look at it, and give you a price before we start. The estimate is free and there is no obligation.

Hourly billing puts the risk on you. If the job takes longer than expected, you pay more, and you have no way to know going in what the ceiling is. It also quietly rewards working slowly, which is not an incentive we want anywhere near our trucks. We price the job, not the clock. You approve a number before we start, and that is the number you pay even if the work takes us twice as long as we thought. So on those calls we sometimes bid by the hour instead. We tell you that before we start, you agree to the rate up front, and nothing lands on the invoice that you did not already know about.
