What We Handle, and Where We Bring Someone In

We are plumbers, and on a bathroom the plumbing is the part that has to be right before anything gets tiled over. Supply lines, drains, the shower valve and its rough-in, the tub or pan, the toilet and the vanity. On a straightforward shower we build it out too, including the tile, as we did in Nolensville replacing an old claw foot tub with a new tub and a shower tiled to the ceiling.

Where a project means moving walls, borrowing space from a closet, or a full room rebuild, we work with general contractor partners and handle the plumbing alongside them. That is how we turned a Brentwood half bath into a full bathroom for a family member who needed one on that floor. Moving the Drain Is What Drives the Cost

This is the single question that separates a straightforward remodel from an expensive one. If the new shower or tub sits where the old one sat, the drain and supply stay put and the work is predictable. Move the fixture, or go from a tub to a curbless walk-in shower, and the floor has to come up so the drain can be relocated and re-graded. On a slab that is a different job again.

It is worth asking before you fall in love with a layout. We will look at what is under the floor and tell you what a change of position actually costs, rather than discovering it halfway through.

Tub to Shower Conversions

A tub nobody uses is a common reason to remodel, and converting it to a walk-in shower is usually the best use of the space. The drain moves and changes size, the valve is replaced, and the floor is built up or recessed depending on whether you want a curb.

Worth thinking about before you commit: a house with only one tub can be harder to sell to families with small children. If it is your only one, it may be worth keeping a tub somewhere in the house.

Shower Valves and Trim

Not every shower needs a remodel. Plenty just need the valve replaced, which is a much smaller job. Old valves calcify, stick, and stop holding a temperature, and a new one with new trim and a new head makes the shower feel new for a fraction of a remodel. We did exactly that in Murfreesboro and left an access panel so the valve can be serviced next time without opening the wall.

If you want more than one head, the supply has to be sized for it. Two heads running at once need the volume and pressure to feed them, which sometimes means larger supply lines and a pressure-balancing valve rated for the flow.

Bathroom Plumbing Without a Remodel

Most bathroom calls are not remodels at all. A leak behind a wall, a shower that will not drain, a toilet that rocks, a vanity that needs replacing, shutoffs that no longer close. We do all of that as ordinary service work, same day where we can.
